Target archery has been traditionally used by many Indigenous communities from all over the world; as a means of hunting. Today, Target archery is the most recognizable format of modern archery. It takes place both outdoors and indoors, over distances of up to 90 metres using two bow styles: recurve and compound. Recurve target archery is used in the World Indigenous Games, Olympic programs, and Paralympic Games. In this session, participants will be engaged through learning about target archery and be provided with a hands-on experience.
