Integrating Technology to Support Indigenous Teaching

Presenters: Sarah Thompson

In this session, participants will learn how to integrate various technologies into their lessons using software such as Smart Notebook. Educators can create engaging lessons using ClassLab and SmartLab. Small classroom robotics, coding games and “unplugged” activities can used as manipulatives to enhance vocabulary and provide storytelling support through virtual meets (i.e Skype, Google Hangout, etc) students can share language and culture with others. Using non-digital technology, students can experience land-based learning with math and science through activities such as orienteering.
