Additional Information:

The Educational Technology  Coach is primarily responsible to the Coordinator of Learning and Instruction. The Educational Technology Coach is responsible for delivery of educational technology resources and services that will support teachers’ educational technology needs, organizational goals, and objectives across MESC as well as some data organization. licensing, and development of resources. This position works closely with other members of the Learning Services branch to ensure that the educational software and instructional strategies used by MESC staff effectively promote student learning and success.

The Educational Technology  Coach is primarily responsible to the Coordinator of Learning and Instruction. 

The Educational Technology Coach  is  responsible for: 

  1. Coaching school-based staff ((school leaders, teachers, and educational assistants) on effective use of educational technology.
  2. Maintaining notes and records.
  3. Collaborating with teachers to identify, recommend and create learning materials and activities. 
  4. Supporting teachers in reaching their professional goals in educational technology.
  5. Maintenance, and enforcement of standards and procedures that adhere to ethical use and copyright laws.
  6. Audit educational technology resources that support teaching and learning and recommend applicable solutions for use in schools.
  7. Developing, designing, and delivering professional learning. 
  8. Coordinating and liaising with vendors and service providers to recommend efficient and cost-effective acquisition of proprietary and open-source education software purchases; support the installation, warranties, and service agreements. 
  9. Collaborating on development of digital resources. 
  10. Maintain an in-depth operational knowledge of Google Workspace for Education Plus.
  11. Identify, recommend, support and/or create digital and interactive leading, teaching, and learning resources.
  12. Collaborate with IT, teachers and school leaders in the identification of resources that are compatible with the school/system technology infrastructure.
  13. Organize, populate and maintain a problems and solutions log and status reports as required; present findings to management.
  14. Remain abreast of the developments, trends, research, and innovations in education technology.
  15. Assist the branch in the design, development and delivery of system wide communication and collaboration tools (ie. Google Classroom, Google Shared Drives, Google Currents)
  16. Model and promote continuous learning experiences through reflection, professional growth, and communication
  17. Collaborate on student achievement analytics and reporting including supporting staff with Dossier.
  18. Supports the design, development and delivery of professional development in educational technology, including session evaluations for teachers and school leaders.
  19. Troubleshoot and provide direction for technology related initiatives including platform, hardware and application recommendations.
  20. Liaise with partners relating to data management and reporting
  21. Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education degree required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of positive classroom experience
  • Experience coaching teachers toward strong, data-supported results.
  • Experience working with a wide range of software, including proprietary and open-source, productivity suite, information management, audio/video editing, web design, and training programs is an asset
  • Experience working with a wide range of hardware, including desktop computers, mobile devices, 3D Printers, STEM devices, printers and SMART Boards is an asset
  • Experience with the full suite of Google applications required
  • Experience with learning management systems and applications (ie. Moodle, HAPARA)

Working Conditions
