Additional Information:

The  IT infrastructure and Office 365 Administrator is responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining Office 365 applications and services. Responsibilities include ensuring the security and integrity of data by implementing security and compliance policies, managing data loss prevention, and overseeing threat management. In addition, Office 365 Administrator will support end users by troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to Office 365 applications and services and ensuring that users have the necessary access and permissions.

The Office 365 Administrator is responsible to the Director of Information Technology.

The Infrastructure and Office 365 Administrator will have specific responsibilities for:

  1. Implementation and Migration: Deploy, configure, and maintain Office 365 applications and services, ensuring smooth migration from legacy systems if applicable.
  2. Administration: Manage user accounts, licenses, groups, and permissions within Office 365.
  3. Security and Compliance: Implement and monitor security policies, including data loss prevention (DLP) and compliance measures.
  4. Infrastructure Management:  Deploy, configure, and maintain windows infrastructure in Azure Cloud and On-prem VMWare environment.
  5. Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support, resolve issues related to Office 365 applications (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.), and collaborate with end-users to enhance productivity.
  6. Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies for Office 365 data.
  7. Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance and usage, optimize applications for efficiency, and recommend improvements.
  8. Documentation: Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: Proven experience as an Office 365 Administrator or in a similar role managing cloud-based services and applications.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in administering Office 365 applications such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, etc.
    • Familiarity with Azure Active Directory (AAD), Azure AD Connect, and related identity management concepts.
    • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
    • Understanding of network infrastructure and security principles.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, or similar.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and end-users.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Must possess and maintain, at minimum, a valid class 5 driver's license. 
  • Must qualify to be insured by MESC’s insurance provider without the Commission being charged an additional premium or surcharge.

Working Conditions

  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to support system upgrades or emergency issues.
  • Travel: This position requires occasional travel to various MESC schools to assist students, teachers, and office staff.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and experience with IT service management practices.
  • Awareness of industry best practices for cloud services and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
