Additional Information:
The IT Support Technician (Office 365 Focus) helps with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Office 365 applications and services. This role supports the IT team in ensuring the security and integrity of data by assisting with security and compliance policies, and helping with basic troubleshooting and threat management. You'll primarily support end users by answering questions and resolving common issues related to Office 365 applications and services, making sure users have the access and permissions they need.

Responsibilities
The IT Support Technician (Office 365 Focus) is responsible to the Director of Information Technology.
The IT Support Technician (Office 365 Focus) duties include but are not limited to:
- Implementation Support: Assist in deploying and configuring Office 365 applications and services.
- User Management: Help manage user accounts, licenses, groups, and permissions within Office 365.
- Security & Compliance Awareness: Support the team in applying basic security settings and learning compliance tools like data loss prevention (DLP).
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and resolve common issues related to Office 365 applications (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.), helping end-users enhance their productivity.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation regarding configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Infrastructure Support: Gain hands-on experience and assist with configuration, deployment and maintenance of Azure cloud services and on-prem VMware environments as part of professional development
- System Monitoring: Observe and learn how to monitor system usage and performance with direction from senior staff.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent training/experience).
- Experience: Experience with or exposure to cloud-based services and applications, or relevant (internships, co-op, or personal projects) with Office 365 or IT support roles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Basic understanding of cloud concepts and identity management (Azure AD knowledge is an asset).
- Interest in learning PowerShell scripting and IT automation tools.
- Understanding of basic networking and security concepts.
- Eagerness to learn PowerShell scripting.
- Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Fundamentals certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals) or any introductory IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+).
- Strong desire to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to assist end-users.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- A keen eye for detail and a willingness to troubleshoot problems.
Working Conditions
- This position may occasionally require evening or weekend work to support system upgrades or emergency issues.
- Travel: This position requires occasional travel to various MESC schools to assist students, teachers, and office staff.
