Notice to Families - New Student Registrations

Our school district is funded federally and locally controlled, so we are not impacted by the Alberta Teacher Strike.

• We are aware that some families may be interested in transferring their students to a MESC
  school or are seeking temporary registration during this time.
• To ensure fairness and protect the quality of learning, we are placing all new student
  registrations on a temporary waiting list from October 6th to 24th.
• After October 24th families will be contacted if a space becomes available.

This 3 week period allows us to:

• Assess our class sizes, staffing and resources to determine how many new students
  we can accept.
• Plan and adjust supports so that new students that are accepted can be welcomed
  without affecting the quality of education for all students.
• Our priority is maintaining a safe, balanced, and high-quality learning environment for all
  students.

Families on the waiting list will be contacted if space becomes available. We appreciate your
patience and understanding. Our priority is the well-being of students and staff, and ensuring
every child continues to receive a safe, supportive, and high-quality education.
